So I’m plannin on starting up another garden ASAP. Before I start I need a new bulb, I have a 400w convertable ballast.
I can get a GE HPS bulb for $22 but there are a dozen other more pricey 400w HPS bulbs from $30 to $90. I was also reading about a Philips MasterColor HPS retro-white, and I believe I can use a Ceramic Metal Halide with this ballast too.

Does anyone on this site have experience with the mastercolor or a CMH, If so how do you feel about that compared to the regular HPS bulbs?

Also, are the better HPS lights like hortilux worth the $40 price difference?
